Hi there! I’m Sheila, a designer, researcher, and problem finder currently working at IBM in Dallas, TX. I thrive in a collaborative environment, working with communities, organizations, and multidisciplinary teams to design opportunities for learning, innovation, and storytelling.
My innate curiosity for people, culture, and social injustice within our society moved me to pursue a master’s degree in Interaction Design where I focused on solving health issues (check out my projects, Thero and Hormona). I hope to use my education and experience to give a voice to those who need to be heard, advocate for basic human rights, and improve my local community.
Outside of my day job, I have a slew of interests that I’m still learning how to balance. I enjoy reading and learning about nutrition, food justice and investing. You can also find me weightlifting at the gym, baking and sharing at my club of one, Serious Baking Club, and loving the shit out of my dog, Sadie.
